Gatehouse Primary School in Dawlish has raised nearly £2,500 from their first Colour Run, organised by the Parents Teacher Association for pupils and their families.

A Colour Run is a non-competitive, run or walk where participants wear white shirts which are doused with vibrant, food-grade colored powder along the route.

Mr Jason Stephens, Head of School from Gatehouse Primary, says, “The smiles, laughter and clouds of colour made for a brilliant day, and it was wonderful to see so many children, staff and families getting involved and having such a great time together.

“Events like these don't happen without a lot of hard work, so we'd like to say a huge thank you to our PTA for organising such a fun and successful event. Thank you also to our staff and volunteers, who gave up their free time to help everything run smoothly, and to all the parents and families who supported the event and sponsored our runners.”

Children ran through the school field and undertook various obstables along the way. They raised money via sponsorship which will be injected back into the school, being used to provide exciting opportunities and experiences for its pupils.
