The purpose of governance is to provide confident and strong strategic leadership which leads to robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.

An academy trust is a charitable company limited by guarantee and has both Trustees and Members.

Trustees are both charity trustees and company directors. The board of Trustees, also referred to as the board of Directors or the Trust board, is the governing board, and is responsible and accountable for all the schools within the Trust. Members are ‘eyes on and hands off’ and have a similar role to the shareholders in a company limited by shares.

The board monitors and challenges the educational and strategic outcomes of our trust and there are three main committees that support its work.

The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the trust. The team works alongside our schools to provide challenge and support, in order to ensure our schools deliver the best possible education.
