Salcombe Regatta raises £2,000 for outdoor education equipment at Salcombe CE Primary

Salcombe Town Regatta has generously donated £2,000 to Salcombe CE Primary School via the Friends of Salcombe School Association (PTFA), which the school has used to fund play equipment including an obstacle course, dig pit, water trays and a bike shed for the playground.

Vickie Parker, a representative from Salcombe PTFA, said, ‘Donations were presented to six brilliant local causes at a special celebratory event from Salcombe Regatta, and we were absolutely thrilled to be one of them! A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in raising the money. This generous donation has been used to revamp the outdoor spaces used by the Nursery and Early Years children at the school, supporting their physical development, and helping them build strength, coordination, balance and confidence through play.’

Miss Lottie Bond, Head of School, says ‘I’d like to say a huge thank you to our PTFA for securing a bid to raise this money from the Salcombe Regatta Committee. The children have had a ball using the new equipment, demonstrating teamwork and communication, and developing core strength to support with fine and gross motor skill acquisition. We will continue to develop the dig pit in time by adding in enhancements if the children’s creativity and imagination wears off!’

Debbie Cater, a representative from Salcombe Regatta said, ‘We are absolutely thrilled that following another fantastic Regatta in 2025, we have officially donated an incredible £9,000 back into our local community with £2,000 going to Salcombe CE Primary. It was an honor to host an evening celebrating six worthy local causes that do so much for Salcombe.’
