Willowbank Primary School in Cullompton, Devon is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Bomby as interim Head of School.

Sarah joins the school to provide maternity cover, bringing a decade of teaching and leadership experience within the local area to the role including most recently as Assistant Headteacher at Whipton Barton Federation in Exeter. Her appointment ensures a seamless transition and continued stability for the school community.

Sarah says, “I am delighted to join Willowbank Primary School and feel incredibly privileged to become part of such a welcoming and aspirational community. I’m excited to continue supporting the school on its journey and to join a trust that is so strongly committed to inclusion and putting children at the heart of every decision. I look forward to working closely with staff, pupils, and families to build on the school’s strengths and ensure every child is able to thrive.”

Sarah is particularly passionate about curriculum development and children’s personal development. She maintains a strong belief in creating educational environments where children feel happy, supported, and inspired to achieve their absolute best.

Kath Powell, Director of Inclusion for First Federation Trust, says, “We’re really pleased to welcome Sarah to the team and look forward to working with her and to continue supporting the school. A dedicated interim headteacher ensures the smooth transition of day-to-day operations and maintains momentum for long-term school improvement plans.”

Reflecting on her vision for the role, Sarah added, “Curriculum development and the children's opportunities for personal development are areas I am especially passionate about. Willowbank Primary already has so much to celebrate, and I am looking forward to working collaboratively with the whole school community to continue moving the school forward.”
