Relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education
The Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (England) Regulations 2019 make Relationships Education compulsory for all pupils receiving primary education. They also make Health Education compulsory in all schools except independent schools.
The implementation of the regulations was delayed because of Covid-19. Schools had to start teaching the new content by at least the start of the summer term 2021.
You can find below the Trust policy for this area:
In primary schools, parents can withdraw their child from sex education beyond the national curriculum for science, but cannot withdraw them from Relationships or Health education.
